Jp’s Journey:
I started practicing yoga to enhance my physical fitness. I wanted to stretch and be flexible so that I could lift weights and run without injury – it was that basic for me. At first I found the quiet and stillness in yoga to be my least favourite part and it often made me feel anxious.
As I found the connection to my breath and to my body, I began to grow and open up in unexpected ways. I crave that stillness. I indulge in the quiet moments. My values and my sense of self has evolved.
I love a simple pleasure. Sunshine on my face; scratching a puppy’s tummy; hearing the morning song of the birds outside my window.
Allow yourself to find sweetness in the little things.
