After working in various fields for many years I began practicing yoga. My yoga practice grew and from that I finally found my life’s purpose. Although I started my yoga journey in 2004, my practice was sporadic to balance my first love which was long distance running. I discovered power yoga with my running group. It soon became apparent that my yoga practice was dramatically helping my body recover from my running, causing me to do more and more yoga. This opened my heart to my new true love, yoga. From that moment on my life was forever changed.
I never imagined that I could be a yoga instructor. I thought I would start simple and started teaching fitness at the YMCA. It was a great way to learn about fitness, the body and teaching. From there my yoga instructor encouraged me to teach yoga.
My yoga journey inspired me to open my own studio in January 2013, Yoga You4ia. The combination of Yogafit, Power Yoga and Yoga Nidra is the perfect blend. It's amazing to watch my students shine on their mat. I love teaching all levels and encouraging students to find their own expression that feels right in their body. I enjoy teaching a wide array of yoga; Yoga Jams, which are loud with high energy, Power Flow, a moving meditation, and Yoga Nidra, a softer side of yoga with deep stretches moving into stillness.Yoga is simple.
